How safe is your pet dog in Korea?

Here is a story of a hungry Seoulite who stole someone's pet Chihuahua, killed it, and while in the process of cooking it, he accidently set his place a blaze, which led to him being caught.

If that was my pet dog I would of killed him!

Good thing he got caught. Though unfortunately for the dog and the lady, the dog was already dead.

Protect your pet dogs from such cruelty!

Cool

Lodger accused of cooking landlady's dog
Wednesday, February 20, 2008

A Korean man is facing charges after trying to eat his landlady's dog, setting his room on fire in the process.

The Seoul resident, named only as Park, dognapped the Chihuahua while his landlady was in the bathroom, and set about preparing it as a meal.

Firstly, this involved killing it. Then Park decided to try scorching the dog before cooking it properly, but somewhat unsurprisingly this had the side-effect of setting his room on fire.

It was at this point that neighbours spotted the smoke, and called the fire brigade. When the firefighters arrived, they discovered Park in the middle of his sub-Nigella culinary experiment. The police were called, and arrested Park.

The Korea Times reports that Park was, you'll be astonished to learn, drunk when he was arrested. The paper says that his explanation for his dog-cooking actions was: 'I did so because I was hungry.'

He now faces charges of theft.

A chihuahua: would probably be delicious with a bit of garlic, soy and sesame oil, served with beansprouts and kimchi

Hey, he's gotta eat just like the next guy. And it must be in god's plan, otherwise the little doggy would have looked like this:

I never heard of this... Maybe, for some Koreans a dog is just simply food... I mean if he can afford rent, why can't he afford to get some chicken? I feel really bad for the landlady. A dog for many pet owners, their dog is like a member of the family.... I knew a teacher (Korean) who said her parents ate dog, and their pet dog could tell when her parents ate dog, and the dog would distance itself from her parents when that happened.

I'm not buying the 'hungry' excuse. If he were really hungry, he would have stolen a big dog. The guy must have just wanted a snack.

I'd rather spit roast it until its skin was really crispy
