I've only recently begun to focus on some afterschool public school jobs on the Korean job board.

They involve working less than 8 hours a day, offer better vacation time than regular public school jobs and the overall package appears to be better e.g. you get more benefits for working less.

Would you advise I go for these jobs or are they in anyway like hagwons e.g. very dodgy and dishonest, you can be fired for no good reason at any time, if Minsu's Mom hates you, you can say goodbye to your job, your apartment is rat-infested, I don't mean to stereotype...obviously etc.

Thanks.

You've been around long enough to see the threads about afterschool programs. Do you really need to ask??

It depends. Some after school programs are OK, many aren't. Imagine teaching 20 some odd kids with a co-teacher who cares nothing about you or the students. If too many kids drop due to lack of interest or various other reasons, you may not get re-contracted. Add that too all the shady dealings with recruiters and the pricniple and you have yourself a headache.
