I am a big fan of using real English movies to teach kids. The problem is that the only movie I've found to work well for this purpose is Toy Story. I tried Stuart Little, but it was too difficult and it just moves too slowly.

Sooo... does anyone have any suggestions for kids' films to use, and how much success have you had with particular films?

I thought about Shrek, but wouldn't it be tough for lower level students? What ages/ability levels have you used it with? I'm thinking low intermediate.

Used the "Incredibles" once. You know..the superhero family. That turned into about 5 or 6 lessons about superhero stuff. A lot of interaction. PM me you email if you want some ideas.

Pixar has a bunch of short clips you could try find. I think they did 'the ChubbChubbs'. Maybe something like 'Finding Nemo' and you could bring in lessons about the Great Barrier Reef...Spongebob Squarepants...

I think the humor in 'Shrek' may be too much for lower level (but there are the visuals to discuss). the 'Lion King', perhaps...but please inform them that's not really a true reflection of Africa (and there are people in Africa).

Good luck.
