Inspired by the Cormac McCarthy thread and the recent overload of books being translated to film, what would you want to see made into a movie that hasn't already been done? Go ahead and throw in your ideal actors/directors for kicks.

Dave Eggers' A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius

David Sedaris' books could be pretty amazing with the right screenplay and actors.

Lowis Lowry's The Giver was my childhood dream of a novel and it's been stuck in production on IMDB forever. I just want to see it done well.

I think Rum Diary by Hunter S. Thomson has potential and is already in the works.

I agree with a Sedaris book. Me Talk Pretty One Day would be great.

A Confederacy Of Dunces

Worst ever book to movie has to be Less Than Zero.

Clive Barker's Weaveworld could be a wild film in the right hands.

I'm not sure if it has already been done but Something Happened by Joseph Heller. It would be interesting to see how they do it. Oh, and the' gambler' by dostevsky(sp).

The crying of Lot 49 by Thomas Pynchon would make a wild movie.

I'd like to see Cormac McCarthy's 'Blood Meridian' done right, or for that matter, the Border Trilogy. Also I'd love a good adaptation of 'Consider Phlebas,' 'The Use of Weapons,' or 'the Algebraist' by Ian Banks.
Maybe one of these days they'll do a version of 'Dune' that doesn't suck, too. That'd be cool.
