If you are already in Korea, have already had an E2 visa and are waiting for documents to apply for another visa, via visa run, how long before you have to get the visa? Is it still the case that you can do the visa run within three months of entering the country while working? |

You are LEGALLY required to have your E2 in your passport BEFORE you start working. |

According to the new rules, you should do it 2 months ago. |

If you're already in the country and still working at your current job, you DON'T have to do a visa run. For a fee of W60,000 (plus the usual visa fees) you can do a "change of workplace" and be done. All you need is a letter of transfer (or something like that) from your current employer.
Hmmm...I wonder if the embassy people in Japan will miss all of us!! |

you have 90 days to get your ARC card after having obtained your working visa, maybe you are thinking of this. are you currently working or still on your recent visa? or did you get an exit notice? or what? |

This post is a little confusing. You say you already have an E-2 visa which means that you're employed, yes? You're applying for a new visa, which leads me to believe that you have a new job, yes?
Then all you have to do is get a letter of transfer from your current employer along with the documents from your new employer and go to immigration. You no longer have to do a visa run when you change jobs!! |

yeah ajuma, it's not crystal clear. she stated 'already had an E2 visa' as opposed to already have--so perhaps there's a gap. i took it to mean she's not a newbie and may or may not be officially on the E2 (time gap between jobs or not?). need to know the timing because if it's not right then would need a visa run. |
