In general, would thos of you living in South Korea now consider it to be a conservative or liberal country?? or maybe moderate?

Like many things here, it goes to the extreme both ways.

Just a week ago, I saw a guy curse a woman out for smoking in public, then turn around and take a leak on a light post.

What do these terms mean from a global perspective? If you include the Arab world, everybody else is liberal. And then there are things that don't compute on the American scale. Like, porno is illegal and drugs are rare, but prostitution is rapant. So what does that mean?

Overall, though, I guess they are conservative. Low taxes, not much welfare, lots of socially conservative people.

I'm socially and economically liberal. I grew up in a very conservative American household. It's funny how that happens. ^^

Korea is explicitly racist, xenophobic, nationalistic and socially regressive (which sees male supremacy and older male supremacy in particular) and is plainly conservative. However, compared to Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Pat Buchanan, Bill O'Reilly....I suppose it's a different kind of Right

What is Left and Right these days? Well, this'll receive criticism, but how about.....

Left: believe in evolution, believe in manmade climate change, beleive in universal healthcare, believe in some state influence on the economy, anti-death penalty, pro-choice, no problem with gay marriage, against Iraq war and critical of War on Terror and absolutely anything connected to President Bush, hostile to criticism/mockery of Islam, atheist

Right: Loudly oppose all of the above.

With the exception of the ones in red, I'm on the left.
