Well I'm pretty much only considering going to Seoul, and already I know that the housing I get set up with will most likely be of lower quality than I'm used to here in Canada. How much lower quality? Hmmm, I'm not sure, but I'm crossing my fingers on that one. I don't care if the housing is small, I moreso care if it's clean, or can be cleaned so that I can live in it.

With that said, I'm moving with my soon-to-be-wife (yes, many posters got on my case about her being my gf so I'm trying to advance the issue before I get there). We will share accomodations and I've told her that when we get there we'll buy the following:

1) A nice couch
2) A queen-sized bed, minimum. (King if we are lucky)
3) A nice desk to work on.
4) A plasma or LCD so it saves space.

The question is what does it cost to get the above if it is high-quality???

If you have specific knowledge of tv's then please list brands, size of tv, and any other pertinent details. I would like to find a 50inch Plasma tv but I'm unsure if there is a used market. If not, and I have to buy a new tv I"ll go with a 42inch I guess. Are those even the sizes they sell in South Korea. I base all my information on Canada.

Any techies out there? Your info is appreciated. Oh, and we're bringing our own laptops but we might buy a desktop with a big LCD monitor. Any opinions is also welcome.

If anyone is moving out of Seoul in the summer and wants to sell some items that are high quality, I'd be interested in hearing about them, especially if it's a big tv.

Thanks

You should maybe split this into two separate threads...one here asking about the furniture, and one in the Technology Forum asking about the tech. Certainly know that the desktop question has been answered there, and no doubt that the boffins will be able to give you a rough price, and directions (probably incorporating some sort of awesome map) for you to find the television of your dreams.

All that I can offer is hearsay, and that is that you should expect the prices of things like monitors and televisions to be pretty much what you would pay back home...such items are apparently no cheaper in Korea!
