Yes, you're right. Today's political landscape is almost serene by comparison. And neither bi-weekly school and mall shootings or blowing up federal buildings and abortion clinics should make us think otherwise.     |

I stand corrected. Those shootings have happened for so long and so often they've sadly almost taken on mythic proportions, as in popular folklore, as in "going postal."
 
 
The violence we take for granted in our daily lives in America is frightening and I think all here will agree that after living in a place like Korea and returning home for a visit or to relocate it becomes palpably clear. |
