I know this has been discussed in several threads over the last few months, but the rules have changed during the discussions, and they're hard to track. The Korean Immigration website is not useful.

I want to get a new E-2 now. I am not renewing an old E-2, but I have had several E-2s before.

Do I need to go to my "home country" to get the visa, or can I do a run to Japan?

Anyone know for sure?

I read in a translated version of the government's new regulations that if you have a past history of E-2 Visas then you can get a new E-2 Visa through a third party country like Japan. So that would mean you wouldn't have to go home.

Anyone got this latest translated version?
