My wife and I are going to be staying for a night in Hong Kong in May so I'd like anybody's recommendation on a good place to stay that's no more than $80 a night. We don't have any idea yet of what we'd like to do there but obviously the place needs to be close to the airport because we have an early flight the next day.

The Ibis North Point is reasonably priced and has a great location on the same block as the North Point MTR station. Spend a bit more and get a room with a view of the harbour. The room I stayed in a few weeks ago was small but clean. There's wifi; you buy a card at the front desk. There's a good Japanese restaurant a few doors down, one of those places that doesn't look like much but is popular with local Japanese.
