So we all know that the lousy american dollar is causing the won to fall with it to an extent. I'm an American and since ive been here in korea the won has fell dramatically to what it was in October when I got here. I rembember reading articles about how the won is going to strengthen against the dollar because of Korea's economy etc.... but this was pre submorgage crisis. So are we going to see a stronger or a weeker won in the future do you think?

I think the won will stay strong against the dollar, though I don't see why it would trade outside the 900 - 1,000 won range.

A week dollar means cheaper oil. Bank on that.

You need to change that poll. You need a yes/no question if you're going to give yes/no answers...

The weakness of the dollar represents the loss of faith people have in USA, real or made up doesn't matter.

USA is losing a lot of credibility, and people are wondering whether America can keep on doing what they are doing.

The Won is a different story, but i do believe that the won was undervalued for a long time and it is now adjusting to reality, especially the FTA's are having some impact on that.

The Euro keeps strong because for some reason its not making a complete fool of itself, but how long that will last, I do not know.

These days sentiments have very strong influence on the value of anything.

The US economy has been on a downward spiral for over a decade however people kept hoping that it would all just go away and the masquerade was sustained by the feds continually propping up the economy. But it is kind of like the retailer who keeps puching their losses into next year - eventually they catch up with you.

I am no great lover of democrats, but it is high time we got all Bushes out of the white house and keep them out for all time. Bush, like his father has been delusional about the economy. The house is crashing down all around and he still insists that everything is ok. The final warning signs were when the economy apparently recovered from the 911 era recession without any growth in the employment sector. The dollar will keep plummetting and we haven't seen the worst yet.

It's time for America to wake up and realize that we are NOT rich. We simply have been extended a fat line of credit an in most cases we couldn't afford it.

If an economy produces or has a lot of things people want, the money is stronger. If it doesn't, the money is weaker.

Canada's oil sands has now made the Canadian dollar worth more than the USA and at highs against the Won. And it's this time I actually choose to move home and move the bulk of my money back to Canada. Oh joy.
