Garuda Indonesia is the worst airline I've ever flown on. They were cheaper than others, but in the end, I wish I had paid a little more money to avoid the BS we put up with. Out of 4 flights (we had layovers), 2 were delayed, one was delayed 4.5 hours. Both delays occurred after midnight when the piece of shit airport we were at shut down. No drink machines and no drinking fountains. Though the delay may have been out of Garuda Indo's control and the lack of water wasn't their fault, they offered us no water. This situation must happen on a regular basis and you would think having customers wait for hours with no water would be something they could avoid by having some bottle available for their customers. When asked about the delays and where to find water, they were apathetic and didn't seem to care.
Add these late night, sleep-deprived, dry-mouth delays to the old planes, horrible on-board entertainment and nasty food. Even the cheapest budget airlines, like RyanAir and VirginBlue, do a much better job.
Of course I've filed a complaint with Garuda Indonesia, but I thought I'd warn other people in Asia about this POS airline. |

In Indonesia, the average wage is something like $4 US dollars per day for a typical worker.
Very problematic to apply western standards of service delivery expectations in such a situation. |

No water available for purchase, either. No one told us that the vendors shut down at midnight, that there were no coin operated machines and no drinking fountains. The tap water was unsuitable for drinking or else I would've used the sinks.

Bali is a world renowned tourist destination and Garuda airline services all types of nations in the Pacific, Asia, Middle East and Europe. They also charge similar prices as other airlines. The issue isn't the country of Indonesia, its that a major airline, Garuda Indonesia, sucks ass. |
