I don't like them, because I would have to pretend to be interested in listening to unilingual Koreans. |

^^ You must have been bored/drunk beyond belief to resurrect this old-ass thread.
Is this becoming a trend??
Korean-only clubs are weak as hell. One need only to visit a couple of nightclubs to figure that one out. (Not that I'm cheap...far from it...but) Expensive to the point of mutual embarrassment. Stupid 'rules'. Everybody sits at their own table, unless instructed to dance, therefore you meet nobody new. The idiot dj interrupts the music every five seconds to say something 'witty'. The dancers come out and lip-sync a song. An air of class...haha. |

There are Japanese only Go Go bars in Thailand. I can imagine they are really expensive |

Is the club near near the Goose Goose in Bupyeong?
Two years ago a group of foreigners went in there, drunk, and one of the girls toppled some sound equipment (I don't remember the details) onto the ground, breaking it. $$$$.
They then made a run for it before anybody could hold them accountable.
I was embarrassed, they seemed so jubilant to recount the story.
There are a lot of spring breakers in Korea and where do party animals go? |

I live in Japan and have not found that to be true at all. I live in Nagoya, not Tokyo, and I have been to all those types of places many times, never a problem. The only thing in Nagoya you can't do, apparantly, is visit some high end brothels. Not that I tried, I was told by a friend ... |

I found various Japanese-only places all around the country, mostly outside of Tokyo though. Lots of J-only onsens and bars in Niigata area and Sendai and Chiba. The J-only nightclubs (the ones I've found anyway) are in Tokyo and Osaka. But all of these places were in-your-face about it, posting signs right at the door stating only Japanese were allowed entry. |

I was shocked when I read of Korean only places in the Phillipines.
It reminds me of good ole country white clubs in the South that used to be around. It's something that befits a redneck mentality, I suppose.
Anyway, it is not like they are going to play my kind of music..... Do they wear Korean style KKK hats? Hey, is that Hitler themed bar still around in Korea? |

"Koreans only" clubs are immoral.
In the United States it is against the law and every lawyer dreams of finding an establishment that acts like that as, O'the money that would bring them via a lawsuit. But unfortunately for them the days of segregation and Jim Crow laws are long gone.
Any way, what you should do is post the name of that establishment, along with some pictures of it, so that internet surfers will know about this immoral establishment.
The best way to fight racism is to take action against the racist.
A while ago some guy posted on the internet about a similar story that happened to him.
He was having a party at a bar and they let the white guys in, but the one black guy, they refused entry. He then threatened to move the entire party to another location. The bar still refused to allow the black guy in. So he took his party elsewhere and told the bar as he was leaving that he was going to rat them out on the internet. And sure enough he did, and then the whole world knew.
Then one of the English newspapers in Korea took up his story and boy did that establishment suffer from bad publicity. Everyone was bad mouthing that establishment and they were blacklisted.
The whole episode happened a few years ago. Does anyone remember it?

Now, what's the name of that establishment, so that we know to bad mouth and blacklist them?

Yes! Seoul's got a few rational, supportive newspapers willing to consider issues foreigners have. For example, the international debit card issue is being covered a lot more, and I read more stories of the troubles foreigners have here.
Foreigner issues affecting many people -- including North Koreans and ethnic Koreans from Russia and elsewhere who can speak Korean, but are discriminated against and find it hard to get jobs in South Korea -- are covered a lot in the Joongang Ilbo.

Wasn't it the Phillipines where a Korean shop owner refused business from the locals, only to kick out of her shop the President's wife(?). It got quite a bit of international press, but I never did hear the outcome to the kerfuffle. The Koreans get deported, or just fined?

When I was touring Germany a couple years ago, I got to Berlin and I was psyched to finally see the inside of a Berlin techno/dance/rave club. Got the name of supposedly one of the best clubs, found it on my map, and hiked over from my hotel. Got there, got turned around a bit before finally finding the building it was in, and went on up and paid my cover (Eu20!!!)
Got inside and found it wasn't the club I had thought it was... I had wandered into the only Korean club in the city! Complete with shit Korean "hip hop" and "dance" music. I stuck around long enough to drown myself in beer then went further up to where the actual club I was looking for was.
Man, figures I would travel so far from Korea only to find a Korean club by accident.

or why does the black man want to drink water from the WHITES ONLY tap. it tastes the same on the other side of the street!!
its racist dude! and if korea wants to bve taken seriously then they had
better change there ways! they want equal justice in the states! but the same people who cry racism in the states have no problem turning you away in their country! the blacks fought for their rights! the koreans fight for their rights in the states! foreigners in korea DONT! they just cry about it on DAVES... that wont get laws passed. |
