I like to visit the gym and swim regularly, so I got 2 quotes from places here in Suji.

One is $75 each (pool or gym, $130 for both), and the pool is only available for public swim betwen 12-2pm! The other place was similarly priced...

That's freaking insane! Is this par for the course?

In my experience, I would have to say "Yes".

It's about $100/month in Bundang. Supposedly there are some cheaper places near Ori and Migeum, but with the money I would spend in transportation to get there, it would defeat the purpose of saving money.

hmmm... around here, most gyms I've looked at are about $50 / 3 months. They are a little small (no pool either) and I live in a small town. Still, for that price I'm not complaining lol.

where is your district office? They should have a pool/gym at it for cheap.

My local gym here in BumFuk is 60k a month. No pool but pretty good equipment and most importantly - pretty much void of people

99,000 for 3 months is standard for a gym.

Expect to pay more if you wanna use raquetball or a swimming pool.

The gym that I went to was cool, only 50 a month to use the equipment. They had a pool. To use the pool and gym, you had to pay 150 per month. You could only use the pool for half an hour every other day. I could care less about swimming lately. All the pools here are really shallow, so you can't dive or stand on your hands without your hairy legs popping out of the water, drawing attention.

My gym is inside the new municipal building. It's 45,000 for three months. Same, same as yours.

^ I would have joined the local municipal gym but it's 1km and a bit away. too far to walk in the evening and back. And with bus fees it is cheaper to join the one closer to home.

Nothing cheap in Korea when it comes to gyms or pools. OP, wait until you see how crowded those places get in the summer. Rolling Eyes

I tried out a local one today (near downtown in Suji). Yeah, not the best, but not the worst. The lanes are a bit narrow, and they are pretty crowded, although in the advanced lanes at least people keep moving and don't try to pass.

5000won drop-in, and if you use the bath and the sauna, I guess it's not a bad deal. Not great, but I can deal with it.

Anyone know of any cheap ones in the Seolleung Area? Cheapest I've found is 80k per month with a 3 month contract and that's for a cheesy one room workout area. I'd be happy to pay 50 for that but 80's too high.
