I remember paying like 400,000 won for a phillips region free player about 6-7 years ago when they first came out in Korea.

Glad things are much cheaper now...seeing this trend, I'll be waiting before I jump on the whole Blu-Ray thing.

There's actually websites out there that tell you how to make your DVD player region free. For a computer DVD-ROM it is easy as updating with modified firmware. With a standalone DVD player it is possible but I forget the procedure

i was hoping for one with HDMI outputs. I want to take advantage of an upscaling dvd player for my new pdp. Thanks for the recommendation though.

HDMI + region free:

only 5 different players available @ Danawa

I looked some up earlier on. i typed in dvd code free hdmi. Some of them didn't really have hdmi. You have to make sure you see a picture of the dvd player with an HDMi port. Thanks for your help.
