My black 60gb ipod died the other day. It's out of warranty by a couple weeks. If worse comes to worst, what's the cheapest way to fix this?

That's the way they build 'em, and why we will never again buy an I-pod in this house. We've had two. Both fell apart within a month after warranty.

I figured this was the end deal of my situation. Well, it's unfortunate.

Bassexpander, by the way, have you got a car? I'm thinking of buying a car from a coteacher. It's fairly new, and she might give me a decent deal. I wonder what hoops I've got to jump through to get registered, licensed, and insured. I heard I can exchange my state driver's license for an international driver's license.

Yes. We have a car.

We bought it from a dealer through www.encar.co.kr . They set us up with insurance and registration on their end, but I can't remember if we went to the Gu office to register as well. I think we did, and I know I did to get plates.

My advice: spend the extra to get full-coverage insurance. I'm with AIG now. I switched a little over a year ago. It was about the same price, but I have an English-speaking number I can call in case of an accident.

How much is your full coverage insurance a year? My friend says she pays about 400,000 won a year for her insurance. I don't know Korean costs, so I can't be sure if she has full coverage or not. My guess is she doesn't have full coverage.

I'm around 550,000 on a 2002 (maybe it's a 2003, can't remember) Matiz 2.

have you tried talking to apple? they might be flexible enough to replace it for you. just tell them you're really upset that it happened soon after the warranty expired. if they won't replace it for free, try getting a deal on a replacement.

you also have the option to replace the 5/5.5G ipod hd yourself.

And guess what, guys? Mine died few days ago as well! Smile But my 20GB unit was... probably 3rd generation, so no big loss there.

I'll try calling them today. Funny thing is, my 3g 15gig ipod, with firewire, is still trucking. I use it all the time.

Always remember to backup your music files on your hard drives or online before your devices quit.

I've had an I-station 60gig model for about 3 months and find it a bit bulky.

How are the lifespans of Zens? You'll never see me buying Apple stuff.
