I have an F-4 visa but they're asking for passport sized photos to process my visa (this is what's putting a 'pause' on getting a job position). I don't really understand why because I already have a newly processed F-4 visa which, I was told, was sufficient for working in Korea right away (and no need for any other visa). So is there another reason why they need my photos or are they just really forgetful? (or am I misinformed concerning the F-4 visa?)... or are they planning something else with my documents and photos? hmm....curious (j/k...i hope) |

They are blindly following the book for hiring a foreign teacher and it doesn't make allowances for NON-E2 visa holders.
You are correct that you do NOT need another visa for work. They will also need some (most) of the same documents for working in a public school (even if they are not processing a visa for you) so don't sweat it.

=) THanks! I was wondering what was going on over there. I swear, this is the 3rd time I've had to remind them that I already have a work visa...and I've already lost one job opportunity because of this! =\ Now I'm starting to wonder if I should even stick with them anymore... |

Sounds like they're trying to get you an alien card? Unless you already have that?
A former hagwon took my photo, and my coworker"s passport photo and created a huge, hideous advertising billboard out of it. We were shocked, and wish they'd asked for a better photo! |

I had the same problem last year, I ended up giving them all the information that they needed despite the fact that they didn't need it, I guess they are just happier with the one size fits all approach. |
