| I bought something on ebay. My tracking number says it got to Korean customs on the 11th. Today's the 16th. how long until my friends in customs decide to deliver it? |

They're probably waiting on action from you. Usually they send out a slip asking you to call them. Oftentimes you'll have to call and speak to an officer to declare the contents. You may also have to fax a signed declaration. If customs decides you owe duty, you'll have to pay duty via wire transfer. Every time I've done this, the item ends up delivered the next day.
If your box arrived in Korea on the 11th you should probably give customs a ring. |

| Thanks. The item I bought was for $575 USD. I had the seller put a copy of the Ebay page in the box so the cost was apparent. I am told they will charge me 10%, Is that right? |

Generally 10-20%.
I called customs earlier this year and they told me that you should get one package through for free per year. That might be the case, but you're going to have to talk to an officer to verify. |

That's like asking why people get your tax money. They just do because its institutionalized theft. |

| So can you lie about the value? i.e. claim your wife's ring was a cheap imitation so the % is less? |

| Next time tell the bunk ass to claim it worth less than $100 and that it's a gift and then you won't have to deal with this crap. The only way they could get in touch with me was via telegram cause they didn't have my phone number.... I didn't care about paying extra I just wanted the damn thing! |

I'd like to know this too. I just ordered something worth $219.
I remember paying tax on a watch valued at $412 and headphones at $438 (I paid approx. 20%)
I didn't pay any tax on a ring valued at $315. I don't know if I got lucky or if there is a tax free allowance. |

| If I'm having somebody back home ship a piece of my own property to me, do I still have to pay? |
