Why does the Outback restaurant in Hongdae have an American flag on the wall?

Surely, if there should be a non-korean flag, then it should be the Australian flag. Seems strange to have the place covered with signs of Kangaroos and Boomerangs right next to the American flag.

This is not a complaint, i'd just like to hear others opinions.

Outback is an American owned franchise. Head office in Tampa.

Maybe the flag doesn't fit the decor, but it isn't totally out of place.

A friend told me the other day there is an Outback Restaurant in Sydney (in Korea Town) but Outback less Australian than Fosters (no we don't drink that *beep* but at least Fosters is an Aussie Company).

Alright I will split the difference Fosters Group Limited ( http://www.fosters.com.au/index.htm ) is an Australian Company.

Fosters Lager European rights are owned by S&N ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foster%27s_Lager ) Apologies for the wikipedia citing.

Either way give me a Crown Lager any day (its been 1 week since my last).

eeeeew crownies?? glorified vbs!!! give me instead a little creatures or a cooper's pale ale any day!!

i've only been to an outback once, and it made me sick. it's like a yank saw crocodile dundee and decided to open a "restaurant" chain. particularly offensive were the indigneous-style paintings on the walls. i'm sure not even one cent from that cr4p made it to the aus indigenous community.

But I find the Toowoomba Linguine particularly amusing. There is only 1 wog living in Toowoomba and thats my father!

Actually had a Cascade Premium, and Boags Premium the other week they were great. But I would kill for a Matilda Bay Redback.

I agree withh all these posts, Outback is the most unAustralian cr4p i have seen or eaten. Trust the septics once again lol. Had a couple of VBs on the weekend though...... great stuff. But Tassie beer is hard to beat.

It's all about the atmosphere. The food is pretty much entirely of American origin with the cute Australian names. I never much liked the stuff though. I'm a Bennigans & TGI guy. I wouldn't mind an Applebee's here.
