I started school yesterday after successfully jumping through all the hoops in the new E-2 visa requirements.
However being a British citizen, I was told by the foreign office that they do not apostile/certify copies of criminal checks but only the originals.

So having sent my original criminal check all signed and apostiled to immigration I have just been informed by my co-teacher that I can't get it back Sad

It took over 3 months and close to $200 to get it in the first place only to be told I cant get it back. Surely, like a degree certificate, it is my property on loan to prove I abide by certain criteria set by the K gov. and therefore should be entitled to it back.

A couple of q's I have are:
1. do you think I can or should get it back.
2. Do you think the K gov will demand a new one every year?

Any one with knowledge or experience who can help is much appreciated.

thanks

Why not get it back from the hagwon owner?

I mean the money.

I am assuming he works at a public school and not a hagwon because of his use of the word "co-teacher"

Good luck getting the money back from them.

There would be no real benefit in getting the criminal record check back from immigration because the new procedures state that the CRC must have been done no more than 3 months ago.
