Hi all
My girlfriend and I, South Africans, are teaching English in Baran, Hwaseong. We would love to meet fellow expats in the vicinity. Please let us know if you are out there(!) |

Hey, glad to see you made it over
I'm not 100% sure where Baran is, but I'm in Hwaseong too.
I'll send you a PM. |

I just moved into Hwaseong from Suwon this weekend. I have a couple of friends down here as well. Where is Baran? I'm sure there is a decent bar/restaurant here somewhere that we could meet up at or something. I'm over in Jinan-dong at the edge of town. |

Baran has some good filipino restaurants. Usually head down there once a month. Not much else there. |

Hi Samantha,
I looked on the map and it would appear that Jinan-dong is about a 10-20min bus ride from Baran (which is south of Jinan-dong). Finding a good restaurant / bar and meeting up there sounds like a great idea. We don't mind doing the bus thing, so if you know of any appropriate places in Jinan-dong then we would be happy to meet you and your friends there. I'm still finding my feet so maybe some time next week?
You can see a map of Hwaseong that shows the different parts at this address- http://www.hscity.net/english/04_industry/industry10_01.jsp
Thanks for getting back to me, its good to know we are not alone!

Sounds great for next week/weekend. The only problem is I don't know my way around town yet. I moved to Hwaseong on the 1st . I know the basic immediate area around my school/apartmetn. There are one or teo bar/restaurants that smell really good when they are cooking. I think one of them is a galbi restaurant. They might be a good place to start since I know very simple directions to tell the taxi for it. Beumjeong Lotte Cinema, I think the little blue buses #11 and #13 stop right near there. The restaurant is kitty corner from the cinema building. It has a dime store wooden indian out front and says "western" bar/hof/restaurant on the sign.
If you want give me a call at 010-3571-2278 or message me here. I'll also run it by my friends that live here and see what their schedules are like if they want to meet up.

Hi Samantha,
That all sounds good. I don't have a phone yet, but will be in touch via Dave's. Next weekend would be perfect, but during the week should be fine too. Thanks again and look forward to meeting you.
