I was the DM of a Dark Sun campaign for some six years or so. I wonder how many other people recognized the name in the title of the thread. |

I started with DD and continued with ADnD. I still have his first novel and original DD books somewhere at home. |

I started playing using "chainmail", continued into Basic D&D, Advanced D&D, D&D 2nd edition, and now playing D&D 3.5 (preordered 4.0Ed books).
I actually met Gary Gygax at a Stellarcon Convention in 1979 or 80. He wasa giant in the Gaming World and will be missed. I'm gonna hoist a few tankards of Dwarven Fire Ale for him at our game on Saturday. |

One of my brother's friends got to play with Gygax at one of the early-80's GenCons. Gary didn't know the damage on a mace (2-7).
Not sure if that made him a winner or a loser.
Back in the day, I played a lot of AD&D and Star Frontiers, but the best boxed RPG by far was Paranoia. |

If anyone wants to join a D&D game for nostalgia sake I'm in an RPG group in Seoul that is currently running five RPG games (D&D, more D&D, Burning Wheel, Spirit of the Century and World of Darkness).
Send a PM if you're interested.

I remember seeing Chainmail. I was big into tank "micro armor" wargaming. 1980 got the Basic D&D boxed set. Fell out of the gaming world long before 2nd edition, d20, etc. |
