I want to get bottled water delivered to my apartment. My co teacher said she found a place that provides the service but they want me to sign a contract stating I will usea a minimum of 4 - 20 litre bottles each month. I live alone and there is no way I drink that much water.
Where can I buy a water cooler?
If you rent, who do you use?
How much do you pay each month?
What's the minimum bottles of water you have to purchase each month? |

Don't get the jugs as water stored in plastic can turn bad. Get a water purifier. If you want to rent, it'll cost around 100,000 won in registration and then 25,000 won a month for a basic model, but they'll replace your filters and do maintenance free.
I haven't done the math to know whether buying is the better option, but I bought a used water purifier for 50,000 won, plus 30,000 won installation and two filters for 20,000 won each. |

Don't pay a registration fee. A Korean friend showed me a couple of companies and options on the Internet. We called one (Woonjin) and said we were interested. Since competition is high, they said they would waive the registration fee. We just had to tell the person who came to my apartment that we paid the fee on the phone.
I pay 29,000 won a month for the service (the purifier and regular check up and filter changes). You can pay more for more elaborate units, like ones that heat up water for tea, etc. |

people often sell the water coolers online... english spec, wkNplay etc.. 15,000 - 30,000
then buy the bottles for 5,000 each... no contracts though you have to pay a 6,000won deposit for the plastic bottle.
I would not drink the tap water. If you boil it its better. However there was an article couple years ago about the water not being so great here. |

I'm not afraid to drink my tap water, but it tastes like dirt. Seriously, like dirt. |

Mine tastes slightly of sulfur and something else I can't identify. I'm not really afraid to drink it, but the taste is pretty bad. |
