I'm working at a high school and recently had my hours upgraded to 22 a week . I was doing 19 and that seemed a fair number . I'm not complaining as this is what my contract states I'm obliged to teach , I was just a bit spoilt I suppose .I was just wondering how many hours people generally teach ? I know my korean co workers teach far less than 22 and are paid for any extra hours they put in .

PS contracts state 22 classes a week.

I am scheduled to teach 27 per week this term. I get supplemental pay (100k) for the extra 5 scheduled classes per week. Puts my monthly salary in the 3mil per month range (plus full benefits of course).

I'm scheduled (and always have been) for 22 hrs./week. However, I'd be surprised if the average of actual classes taught was 15/week after 'cancellations'... it's probably more like 12. Cool

21 this semester, as I'm doing 1st and 3rd grades (high school), while last semester was only 18. However, next semester with no 3rd grades, I'll only have 16. Very Happy

gosh, some ppl....it states up to 22 in your contract.

I've had 22 since day 1. Do I ever teach the full 22? Yes. Do I teach 22 every single week? No.

18 45-minute regular classes.
4 45-minute "after-school" classes. (They're really during the 7th period.)
That makes 22 45-minute classes or a total of 16 hours and 30 minutes of actual teaching per week.

The regional education offices called the schools and told them to make sure their EPIK teachers are working the 22 hours per work. That's what my co-teacher told me anyway.

about 11 hours a week just now. was 22 classes a week last year but now lost a few but gained some teachers.

Going to go up though when extra classses start though. But like ttompatz I will be bumped up to the 3mil mark for working a 30-40 minute class in the morning.

Life is tough

i only have 14 hours of teaching a week at my high school. last year i had 14 student classes plus 6 teacher classes but so far this week I haven't had any teacher classes nor have i been asked to do them. normally i would inquire about this but my last day teaching before i go home forever is the 19th so i figure i'll just play it cool for the next week and a half and coast.....

when the new teacher shows up they can organize something new for him...
