Coming up to Seoul on Saturday to meet an old friend. I used to go to the S bar in Kangnam, but that was in 2002-3. Don't know if it's still there.

Any suggestions for an upscale place that might have a selection of single malts? Not interested in private rooms and bottles...

Thanks.

Show me the way to the next Whisky bar
Show me the way to the next little girl

I believe many of these places are girly bars
They can get pretty expensive.

Yes, but I'm not looking for "that" kind of place. We're both married, and I for one, am not looking for sexy time. Not terribly concerned with cost.

Anyone else?.....

Okay, okay, you're both married. We get it. (so are most customers of '"that" kind of place')

So what's the big hairy difference between a "whisky bar" and every gd bar in South Korea, all of which mostly likely sell whisky ?

I'm looking for single malt whiskeys like... Lagavulin, Bunahabhain, Craganmore, Dalwhinnie, Laphrooig, lagavulin, Oban, and Talisker and Cardhu are ok too....
Glenlivet is swill.
Very hard to find in Korea....

Depending on the age, 8-50$. Oban is a lower end, but Laphroig is higher end. Some of the rarer whiskeys are more expensive. At S bar in Gangnam, I paid 24,000 a shot, but that was a long time ago.

My favorite everyday whiskey is Bunahabhain (however you spell it), but a warm Lagavulin is a nice way to finish an evening.

edit----so why the heck did it filter s h o t?

RE: Shot s.h.o.t

Apparently there is a new mod that thinks she knows how things work.

Are Mods allowed to add words to the swear filter? It wasn't manually filtered after posting though. After I posted it, I edited and it was filtering in preview.
