For my next trip, I am trying to get from Singapore to Jakarta. I looked on the Airasia site and there is no connecting flight, only from Kuala Lumpur to Jakarta. I also have been looking into taking a ferry, but I'd rather take a cheap flight. Does anyone have any information on flights and/or the ferries and/or suggestions? Thanks! |

the best way I've found to explore my options for flying into a given airport: look it up on wikipedia, and scroll down to the part that tells you what airline flies out of what terminal, and it will list each airline and the destinations it serves. Just google something like "Jakarta international airport wiki"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soekarno-Hatta_International_Airport
As you'll see, there are lots of choices for singapore. I'm not 100% sure, but I'd guess Valuair, Lionair, or Adam Air would be your cheapest bets. The other nice thing about using wikipedia is that you can click those airline names if you've never heard of them before and find out if they're low-cost or not, accident history, etc.
Good luck- |

You can jump in a taxi in Singapore and go to Malaysia for less than $20. If you share you taxi it only costs about $5. The taxi will drop you in Johor Bahru and takes generally only about 20 minutes. You can fly from Johor Bahru airport direct to Jakarta for about RM 50 ($20) on Air Asia. I have done it many times and think it's the best way to go. |
