Bush has done some pretty bad things, but these two measure are a joke. Even I can admit that much.

The way I understand it is Bush can only be arrested IF he goes to those two towns. Yeah, like that's going to happen.

Even if he went to those towns it wouldn't happen. Secret Service anyone? Even if they didn't like him they'd do their job and put down any cop/civilian stupid enough to try. Hopefully they'll use guns and not tazers so we don't have to listen to the anti-tazer crowd on here bleating about it. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Secret Service? How can you arrest someone without a specific charge and a warrant? What is the charge and where is the warrant?

The Secret Service detail that protects the President of course. If Bush went to those towns, he wouldn't be going alone.

Which is why the entire thing is stupid to begin with..never mind the charge and warrants thing, it wouldn't even get to that point.

Correct. Impeachment begins in Congress, and Pelosi stated long ago that this will not be on the agenda. Period.

What is going on here, and is reported in this thread, they call "show politics."

Yes, stillnotking, what verifiable acts of perjury has Bush committed?

Inquiring minds want to know.

And as I recall the other two impeached presidents were both Republicans.* So much for that conspiracy theory.

OK, so Johnson was a Democrat but he served in a Republican administration--close enough.

clinton was a republican?

I think "show boat politics" (I actually had those words together, but for some reason they set of the swear filter) would be an even better term, but I agree with you either way. Democrats time would be better spent going after McCain and linking him to Bush rather then this other stuff. Of course, then again, we aren't talking about a Democrat that posted this, but a raving lunatic.

Much like the difference between 'freedom fighter' and 'terrorist', we also have 'show boat politics' and 'political theater'. A town of 1,000 stating that the president of the US will be arrested if he pulls in to the only gas station in town brings up images of Barney Fife in Mayberry. That is, I think, the point of this exercise.

Why?

Thought-crime?

No, that would require some evidence of actual thought.

The other one was Bill Clinton - Democrat:

Your score in political history is now 0 out of 2.

You were probably thinking of Nixon, but he resigned to avoid being impeached.

Actually, it's closer to 0 out of about 2,000, but lets not quibble.

Jeff Rense and his followers support the terrorists.

9-11 conspiracy theorists say what the do in order to create disorder because their ulitmate goal is the weekening or the overthrow of the US government because they will never get their way until the US is out of the way.
