Hello. Does anyone know where to find the t.v. show "The Shield"? It was on fox, but I can't find it anywhere. Thanks!

Are you in Seoul? If you are head down to Yongsan and find a DVD shop... they will burn you whatever season you want. Should run around 15,000 won a season.

I download pretty well every TV show I watch, but I would never support anyone who pirates TV shows by paying for it.

Way I figure it is thats its faster, easier, and theres no link to me downloading anything. They package it up nicely... its easy, and the quality is always good.

I can't compare it to The Wire as I haven't watched The Wire yet. But I can say that The Sheild is by far my favorite show. If you decide to watch it, make sure you start from episode one as there is a running storyline. You certainly won't be lost if you don't, but you'd still be missing out on a lot.

Sorry but the Shield is garbage IMO. It is such a B rated show. So cheaply made. Plot is so predictable. It has NOTHING on the Wire. I am rather blown away that people like it so much.

The Shield strikes me as a bit more 'action' than the Wire, which is not a bad thing. The Wire is more of a funeral dirge for the American city, whereas the Shield is a bit more rage-inspired.

I love the Wire. It's a pretty authentic look at the nuts and bolts of a big city police department and it's relationship with local politicians, the public school system, local media, and the criminals that run the city.

I'm not sure what people see in the Shield. Why is it good?

Having watched a lot of The Shield and The Wire, I would choose The Shield if I could pick only one.

The Wire has much less action, but it does have more drawn out plot. The Shield has drawn out a plot and characters well over time and it has more action and it simply more gripping.

Take 2 cop dramas that are good. One has Tom Hanks in it. That's The Wire. The other has Bruce Willis. That's The Shield.

In the end, Bruce Willis is more entertaining because he gets things done and breaks more heads.


There's also a thread about The Shield in the off-topics forum. It's not current, but it's somewhere in heap of crap cluttered on this site.
