I am in Bangkok waiting to come to Korea to teach. The only problem is that the school says it's going to reimburse me for my flight when I get there. No problem right? Well that is until I found out that to get an Asiana flight from Bangkok its gonna cost about $800.00 US.
Last year I booked a round trip to Bangkok rom Korea and it was only 550,000 won. The ceapest flight I can find is on China Air for about $375.00 but it is almost booked. I may not be coming.

Why not just book your flight with China Air for $375.00 dollars.

Partly because I will not have the money budgeted for another 2 weeks.

You're not going to find shit that's cheaper than $375 at the last minute.

In one week they'll be booked up. I'm screwed. I may have to head to Vietnam and teach for a while.

Don't believe it.

If you send me a PM to remind me I will ask the missus what travel agent she uses in BKK. She pulled a china Eastern out of the air two days before she flew out here on the 2nd January.

Contact your school and tell them that you need them to pay for the flight or you're not able to come. Might work... Very Happy

Yeah I have already emailed them with my troubles. The problem is not just me it's that my wife is coming with me. I could swing a ticket on China air no problem or even a more expensive one but I can't drop 1600.00 on both of us and 750 would put us in the red. And even if I could then what would I do for food in Korea for a month? I'll wait for the director to get back in touch with me before I do anything. Still in any case I won't have the money for a couple weeks anyway.

Yes, showing up in Korea with no money would be a bad idea. You need a bit for food and in case something fucked up happens.

I got a credit card from KB and I'm a foreigner. I opened an MMF with them and after 3 months, I qualified.
