Is anyone else's co-teacher or Principal going to the big GEPIK meeting later this week? There were some drunk GEPIK teachers in Itaewon Saturday night who told everyone all about it. I only heard a little of it, but it sounded like something big is about to happen. Did anyone else get the full story? The teachers said it was about the Immigration changes, but it will be kept strictly hush-hush.

Heard what?

Nothing in your post says anything. Has nothing to do with the title either.

Yet another GarylovesGEPIK thread.

Well, it's Monday. I asked my sponsoring teacher who divulges everything (e.g. even those GEPIK emails way back about runners) to me and she said she hadn't heard anything. However, notification of workshops and meetings usually happen three or four days before a particular event. You know.

Has anyone heard what this meeting will be about? My understanding is that it will take place on Thursday or Friday.

There seems to be a "plan" by the government to build large "English Internment Camps" in the Philippines. This will be funded by "donations" from various "associates" of LMB. It seems that K teachers will either voluntarily, or involuntarily be interned in these camps for up to 12 months, or until they can speak an entire sentence in English, without parroting it out of a book.

It could be a long "vacation" for some of the K teachers it seems.

I got this information from my brother's, wife's, sister's, neighbor's, hairdresser's, paperboy. I'm sure it's reliable (the paperboy apparently wasn't drunk either).

If there's a GEPIK meeting later this week, I'll be the first one who posted it. If not, then flame me later. All I did was post something I heard and ask if anyone could confirm it.
