I need to buy a high quality softball bat for our softball league in Daegu. I haven't had any luck with the local sports shops. Have any of you in Seoul seen a shop that has name brand softball bats? We used some good baseball bats last season, but we want real softball bats this year. If anyone has suggestions I'd appreciate it. Thanks. |

what's the difference between a baseball bat and a softball bat?
I played on a community league (adults) and we used baseball bats - never heard of a bat specifically for softballs - please elaborate |

| Softball bats are bigger and lighter. I don't know how else to explain it. They are often about 34 inches and much lighter than a baseball bat. |

| There is a sports store at Dongdaemun--lots of sports equipment. Not sure if they have bats, but worth checking out. Across the street from AM/PM I believe--close to the Nike store. |

| Thanks for the info about Dongdaemun, but I live in Daegu and I'm looking for someplace in Daegu, or a website. If anyone knows a website with softball supplies I'd really appreciate it. |

My god! is it moron-ville here!? Can someone not ask for a softball bat without an a$$clown making a stupid comment?
To the individual who gave advice about the sports store in Seoul, cheers. To the other clowns, go get your shine box or join the circus. Fools
Rant finished! Lets hope you are too

Actually, the difference between a softball bat and a baseball bat is significant. You can hit a softball about 10 times harder with a baseball bat, BUT you have to be good because the sweet spot is much smalller.
But yeah, if I can connect with a softball bat hard, and hit a liner to the pitcher, most won't have time to move out of the way. With a baseball bat, its probably a hospital trip (maybe even for the first basemen and 3rd basemen)
Softball bats are better for beginners for hitting, but for verterans of the sport they will worry about the safety of the defenders with a baseball bat. |

you know that's very interesting - and I'm wondering if they are required in youth leagues - as I said, I played on an adult community league - we didn't have any requirements regarding bats -
I think it would be good for kids to be playing with the kind of bat you describe - are these American bats? I'm thinking they are - but again - I haven't ever noticed them in the sporting goods stores. How long have they been around? |
