I've searched this topic, but there are so many posts and I couldn't find the information I need. Is it legal or illegal to do a language exchange - i.e., I give English lessons for Korean lessons.

Thanks for your advice.

According to the few cops who I've invited to the local language exchange-e, it's ok. As long as money is not exchange-e'd.....

Do it. Make some friends in Korea. I've been through a couple of them, but tired of the people who would don't even act friendly. There are some cold men and women in Gangnam wanting to learn English and who are unable to even remember your name after a couple meetings. That's all I've got to say. By the way, make sure the language exchange is a two-way street, giving equal time to both languages to show fairness to both persons. Demonstrate justice in all you do.

Thanks for the replies. The Korean family I am working with is wonderful. I just don't want to break the law here!
