I am in California now and just bought a sweet new snowboard; Ride Wide 162". Tried it out a couple of days in Tahoe, now time to return to Korea.
Is it too late to make a ski trip in Korea. Would March 15 be way too late to ride in Korea?
I looked up the Yong Pyong ski resort website, looks like they have daily buses at 5:50 am from Jamsil. Sounds good but that would be about a 30,000 won taxi ride from Hongdae. Any other ways to catch early buses to ski resorts from closer to downtown or Hongdae?
I would love to go board on a weekday, as I won't be working just yet. Any ideas on easy trips on weekdays?
I never boarded (or skied) in Korea. Any tips on crazy things to expect? Do they have lockers near the resort if I come for a day trip?
As a funny side note. I heard they take the board completely off when going up a lift in Korea. Sounds funny. I tried this yesterday at Squaw Valley, (because I had to walk to this lift and would have to walk a bit more at the top), and they said the board MUST be on the foot when riding the lift, carrying is not allowed. Just funny about the little differences.
Thanks, Drew |
