I'm about to move over to korea..and i was wondering, are there a lot of expat girls who come over to korea? most of the people i know who've gone there are males and it seems most of the posters here are male so i'm just wondering if we out number the western women by some rediculous percentage....

I've seen a few girls over here that were English teachers but most of the teachers are men. No idea on the numbers though, sorry

The majority over here is male and it seems like the majority of females come over with bfs. For female single western females the dating scene here probably would be rather annoying, but it'd help you out getting a good job especially after the recent scare with the Canuck pedophile.

I know hogwans prefer a white female American, but is there really any indication that hiring trends have changed due to CPN?

I wouldn't take this board as an accurate reflection of the gender balance here.

I'm a single girl who came here alone recently. In the relatively brief time I've been here I've made friends with and randomly met quite a number of girls who have done the same.
However as the other posters have said, there does seem to be alot more guys here who come on their lonesome.

In terms of the dating scene, it's harder for western girls here than their male counterparts, for numerous reasons that have come up on these boards before!

At my SMOE orientation, they said that 60% of their teachers were male, which surprised me. Anyway, I didn't make any close girlfriends from the orientation because most were a lot older than me and not interested in hanging out with a youngin'. There were plenty of guys my age, though.

I came to Korea 6 yrs ago, met a Canadian girl, got married in Korea (paperwork, the ceremony was on a beach in Thailand) and my son was born here in Korea.

That said, this is certainly not an average occurrence.

Of my 24ish foreign staff, on average, 1/4 is female. It has risen to 1/3 occasionally.

I'll second that. Personally, I know a lot more expat women here than I do men. In my experience, it's definitely not as lopsided as Dave's would have you believe.

what about outside teaching?

when i lived in bangkok, the majority of teachers were men, and out of the the girls there, the majority were...homely...

that being said, there were a lot of non teaching woman in bangkok. (which was good!)

that true in seoul?

'cause i don't have the yellow fever at all...

Looking for lonely expat girls to bang?

YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE, MY FRIEND

You would believe the EX-PAT TAIL that your can score over here. They're dripping wet at the very thought of your pasty corn-fed ass coming over here fresh out of university.

AND IF THEY'RE TOO FAT FOR YOU...

Allow me to introduce

ASIAN WOMEN

Seriously,

If you're turned on by overweight, selfish women who complain too much and don't GIVE A SHIT ABOUT YOUR NEEDS, imagine what a thin, hot, SEXY, Korean vixen who just wants to PLEASE YOUcan do!

Anyway, you can catch the expat women at the Women's Lunchen every first Sunday of the month, or you can go to the Vegetarian Club meetings in Gangnam.

I'd have to say the majority ARE guys, keppiezbt. But not by a massive margin.

And the majority of those guys have Asian preference/ bitter resentment towards white women (see above), that will make the playing field pretty open for you.

Enjoy.

My boss only likes to hire American males. Don't know why, but if there were a female foreign teacher here, the Korean co-teachers wouldn't like it very much. They would probably talk shit on her in Korean all day then be nice to her in English.
