I was looking for whole bean coffee last night at a Kim's Club that just opened last week. I found the coffee I wanted which turned out to be shit. The label on the shelf said 8,000 won. I asked the woman who was stocking the shelves behind me if the bag of whole bean coffee was actually 8,000 won. She said neigh.

So I take it to the counter and the woman at the counter says, in a really high voice "Man-O-Chon-imnida!"

I told her no, that it was 8,00o won. She said no, 15,000 won. WTF, this can't be right, so I walked back to the shelf where I got if from. Sure enough, it said 8,000 won. I again asked the same woman how much it cost. She looked at me with a confused look and again told me, this time, in English, that it was in fact, 8,000 won. I thanked her and returned to the checkout counter. On my way back there, I passed by the first aid/toiletries section.

Something on the bottom shelf caught my attention. It stood out like a sore thumb, so I snapped some pics with my handphone. Check this out.

"Keep it real, keep on faith, keep on going. Piece, So cool, respect, Stay real, WE ARE ALL BRACK PEOPLE"

Yup, those are black colored condoms. They make your *beep* black. I thought that a lot of Koreans didn't like black people because they are black, I mean seriously, my boss and so many other Koreans have blatantly straight up told me that the one thing they didn't like about when they were in America, was the fact that all the American cities had so many black guys. "Philadelphia, so many black guys, New York, So many black guys on subway, Chicago, So many black guys, Seattle, Los Angeles, so many black guys. They want my money. Not good people...

Well here, this box of condoms is telling me that we are ALL "Brack People." WTF? Is this some kind of a joke? Last time I checked, I was white. And if some people here don't like African Americans so much, why on Earth would they want to wear a black condom?

So I made it back to the counter with my bag of whole bean coffee and the woman again tells me to pay 15,000 won. I told her no. I pointed to the coffee/tea section and told her that over there it says 8,000 won. She runs off with the bag, then five minutes later she returns with two bags of coffee. One is mine (hazelnut whole bean) and the other is just like mine, but without the caffeine or something like that. The other bag was the one that cost 8,000 won. Suffice to say, the coffee was shit regardless.

So there you have it, black coffee today and black condoms last night. Nice.

That's wrong on so many levels I don't know where to start ...

The spelling mistakes 'brack', and 'piece' instead of 'peace' are particularly amusing and sad at the same time.

I'm still at a loss for words. Part of my major in college was Marketing. I don't know how in gods name they got that on the shelf at a major grocery chain. Korea Sparkling.

This brand has apparently been around for a while. It seems these offending rubbers are made in Japan.

It was posted years ago somewhere on the site below (which is actually a f'in funny site if you're in the mood to go through it):

well in tokyo there are some girls in the hip hop/reggae scene that'll only date black men, so it makes sense if it was from japan.

You can buy them in the Condomania shop right down from Hongdae Uni.

I can see it now, a white or Asian guy trying to get with a Rastafarian girl. "I only date African men!" "But my dick is black!"

I dunno. I think "piece" is unintentionally right oddly enough.

Black is slimming... perhaps it's for the few koreans who feel they're too "fat" down there?
