That article originally came from the International Herald Tribune didn't it? It's good to see the canal getting a bit more international coverage.

Actually, usually the IHT takes articles from the NYT, not the other way round.

It ran in the IHT three weeks ago: http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/02/20/asia/canal.php

Weird that the NYT didn't attribute.

IHT is owned by the NYT.
