Mr Lee, put the bottle of soju down and back away from the basketball team...

Check her cell phone while she's in the bathroom!

Check text messages, late-night calls, etc.

This is the best way.

This.

Yep.

I agree with the guy who says the trust is gone and the relationship is in big trouble regardless. But checking the phone is fun.

She could be cheating on someone else.

So true... I had this happen once: I thought everything was great until she started being "busy," all the time. I found out from a mutual friend that she had been with a guy for several years and had decided to play the field and make him jealous a bit. When I confronted her about it she denied that she was with anyone else at first, but later admitted to it. The funny thing was that all her friends were in on it the whole time, and didn't see anything wrong there.

I'm of the philosophy that it's difficult to tell if someone is cheating, but your gut instinct is probably right. Cheaters have a hard time managing their time, especially on important dates like birthdays, holidays, etc. In my case, she was busy during an important time which clued me in to something being wrong.

absolutely. Your subconscious keeps trying to tell you something...

But its always better to approach a relationship with good faith and assume the best. until proven otherwise of course. If you start out by not trusting someone..then they sense it and are more disposed to cheat i think

Newer soju bottles don't break with jagged edges anymore. Ah the good ol days when you could slit someone open while drinking.

Are they just going on dates, or is she his girlfriend?

Here's a good one.

Today I dialed on-campus to our office assistant, but accidentally dialed a wrong number. Instead, I got someone else in another building whom I recognized, but didn't recognize me. I know her to be a Korean female married to a Korean. I dialed, expecting to get the office assistant, and simply said, "Hey, are you busy?" because the assistant knows my voice (I have to call her often for office stuff).

This is where it gets funny. The voice on the other line says in a somewhat angry voice, "Where are you!?!" For a moment, I had to think... worrying that I was missing some important meeting. I said, "I'm in my office... what's wrong?"

At that moment, I realized I had dialed a wrong number, and also recognized the voice on the other end.

I said, "Oh, I'm sorry, I dialed a wrong number." She laughed, and said, "Oh, it's OK... I thought you were my boyfriend."

She caught herself mid-word on "boyfriend."

Laughing

Knowing that her husband is Korean, I got quite a laugh out of it.

then, you come back with "... I could be!" Cue the bow-chicka-wow-wows and off you go man!

God I love this country so much sometimes.

edit: to clarify, not because this actually happens to me, but because you run into joke fodder so easily!
