So I've decided to stay here on planet Korea for another year. but I am confused by one of the new rules and im hoping someone can clear it up for me.
the consulate interview, ive heard that it has to be in your home country and that it doesnt. Which is it? I am not renewing with the same employer, in fact I want to go to the Phillipines to get my TEFL. Is the interview dependant on being in the home country or could it be in Japan?
If it does have to be at home, are there any signs of this rule changing as Im sure its the deciding factor for many people to leave and not to come?
thanks for any advice. |

IF you have had an E2 prior to the new regulations
AND
you have NOT had an immigration violation noted against you (overstay, caught working on a tourist visa, caught or reported doing privates, etc)
YOU ARE EXEMPT from the consular interview.
Only 1st time applicants are required to have a consular interview in their home country.
You do need to supply all the required documents (including having them apostilled) CRC, diploma, transcripts, etc., for your new visa application. |
