i have been searching for a narrative during the time of the Japanese occupation of Korea. I am interested in this time period and have had no luck in locating a book on it that is in narrative form. I want it from a Korean perspective. I have found some novels for this period, but that is not what I am looking for.

I am curious about how Korea really was during the Chosun period and to what degree did Japan influenced Korea in ways of infrastructure, education, health care and social development and culture.

If anyone knows of such a book, please give me the title and author.
