I heard from some Korean peeps that a good time to go to the main market is very early in the morning, or late at night depending on your perspective, such as 3-4 AM. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Thanks,
Ryan

night time the fashion malls behind the stadium open at 8pm and close at 8am. the crowds are pretty thick around 8-11... I prefer to go after that ...

Doota, the big mall, is open until 5am, closes, then reopens at 9 (or 10) except for Mondays when it opens at 7:30pm.

My ex-gf had a small clothes store and she used to always go there at night, sometimes until 6am. However, she was buying in bulk from wholesalers. I'm not sure that advice would hold up for individual shoppers. Do you really want to be out shopping at 3am unless you have to?

Yes.

And the wholesalers do sell to individual shoppers. I was surprised at first, but they do! Unless there's a shop owner ahead of you making a big order.

amazing prices there!!!

I appreciate the feedback. I think I am going to check out some late, and probably intoxicated, night shopping.

Thanks,
Ryan

Late night shopping there is a blast--I go once a month or so. I get there around 10:30 and stay until about 2. Avoid Doota unless you want to get ripped off or need to buy some of the foreign clothing brands in its basement--Designer Club and the ones on that side of the street are a lot cheaper.

doota isn't bad! they have great clothes. the only thing is that the vendors can't bargain there... it's against the law. the good thing is that everything is tagged with the price, so you know everyone is getting the same prices.

if you go during the day when it's less busy i think Doota vendors might bargain with you. today i got 8,000 won off my bag! sshh!

oh yeah, and all the winter stuff in there is on sale now! some great finds to put in the closet for next fall/winter!

I guess I just get annoyed because a certain skirt there will be 30,000 won but I'll see it at another vendor going for 10,000.
