Dried powdered food product (mix of mushrooms, roots, grains, herbs, fruit, seaweed, etc) claiming great healthfulness -- shops popping up all over. Fad or for real?

I dont get into fixing breakfasts so the idea of an easy meal in a glass appeals. So I stopped in one shop this week & got the spiel & a sample. Honestly, the setup felt a bit like a food cult (hello capt porridge?). I remember when 'healthfood' stores were kind of cultish in the west too but they did bring yogurt, tofu, whole foods etc into the mainstream.

Its hellishly pricy -- its like a program & you buy a month's supply at a time. You do some yogurt first to line your stomach, then shake up a packet in some liquid (I use soymilk) & toss it back. Raw but interesting flavor.

So just a few days in, I'm feeling benefits -- imagined or real I have no idea at this point. It feels warm & good in my stomach. My appetite the rest of the day is improved. My energy level is up.

This post is not intended as any sort of endorsement & I could well be a gullible idiot, but there is a buzz among my adult students about this stuff these days & I wondered if anyone else here has any insight or experience regarding saengshik.

Sorry cant type hangeul on this keyboard, but definitely saeng as in saeng maekju, meaning 'raw' in this case I presume. On the box & on the storefront.

Maybe its a brandname but my students speak it like its generic.
