I saw the previous thread about UK tax but this is a different specific question relating to EPIK.
When working as a hagwon teacher in 2006 I wasn't asked for tax from the UK when I returned. I haven't been in the UK since March 2007 so should escape any tax resident issues.
I have just returned to Korea through EPIK and as an EPIK teacher I don't have to pay tax. I have heard that Americans are better to pay tax in Korea rather than pay more when they get home.
My question is what is the situation for UK teachers? Am I better to pay the tax in Korea or will it make no difference to my obligations in the UK. |
