Yes, all L-series lenses are meant for "full-frame" camera bodies. The lens has EF mount, but can be also used on "cropped" bodies (3x0d, 4xd, x0d etc) that accept EF-lenses.

Before I buy anything I read a ton of reviews and opinions from sites like www.dpreview.com. Then it's time to fire up http://www.danawa.com/dica/ and compare the prices between home and Korea. I've found that lenses, cameras and DSLR bodies are almost 50% cheaper in Korea than they are in Finland! Hey, the 22% VAT we have can explain only part of the price difference. I just LOVE the weak won right now! Yiihaa!

While in Korea I only buy imported (Kr. 내수) lenses and cameras. I don't need Korean warranty as I can have it fixed at home if necessary. Anyway, here is a link to the lens section. Make a search according to your wishes. I would go for:

- Canon mount
- imported
- SLR (EF-mount)
- DSLR (EF-S -mount)

Your body can accept EF and EF-S lenses. But you have to remember that it has 1.6x crop factor. For example, if you use 100-400mm lens with XTi, it is comparable to 160-640mm lens on a full-frame body (like normal film camera). The crop factor can naturally cause problems with wide lenses, as they are suddenly not that wide anymore (eg. 10-20mm is actually 16-32mm).

My previous purchases were Canon 40d body (from Dicafamily) and Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM (Ire Mall). The former is next to Namdaemun (or what is left of it) and the latter is in Yongsan.

Oh, and keep in mind that if you later go for a full-frame body, your EF-S lenses can't be used with it. That's partially the reason I went for EF myself.
