I won't go into details. All I know is that my wallet is lighter and the break-up went badly.
Every generalization people said about Korean girls was true with my ex. (wanting expensive designer products. Always complaining about something. Sense of entitlement where you go out of your way to do something special for them and they don't appreciate it because thats expected of you since you are their boyfriend).
Are all Korean girls like that? Is it even worth finding another Korean girlfriend only to deal with the same mess, only with a different face?
I know some of you are married to Koreans or are in great relationships with them. How did it happen? |

Quite a few, yup.
Sometimes best just to be single.
Focus on one's inner-self, spiritual life.
Rather than try to drown one's misery in e.g. a fog of booze, & self-loathing, take a trip to the county.
Mountain temples & hikes always offer a fun, free, healthy & refreshing remedy.
Heartache is a fact of life.
Pain is a potentially a very good teacher.

My wife hates designer products and doesn't wear any jewelry. I'd still rate her as high maintenance though. |

No.
Just the trophy girls all you young fellows keep chasing after.
Look at it this way: You just dodged a bullet. Your demanding, selfish girlfriend would have simply become your selfish, demanding wife if you guys had stuck together.
Ass is just ass, and you shouldn't try to base your life upon it. If you want a good, long-lasting relationship, find a good friend first.
And stop giving a crap about where she was born. |

and imagine the divorce proceedings if you'd ever decided to sit her down and have the "we need to tighten the purse-strings" talk.
more like dodging the KTX with 100,000 gallons of nuclear waste loaded on it. |

Most girls like nice stuff, so as a man you need to make her realize it's all about balance and being fair. Just last week my girl told me she wanted a new pair of shoes.
I told her that as soon as she's finished making my dinner and washed the dishes I'd think about it. Women, eh? |

I hope the sex was at least worth it considering the damage she did to your wallet.
But seriously dude, there are some fantastic women out there. Be thoughtful and polite at the beginning, but you also got to be the man.
You can tell within a few dates if the girl you're with, sees you as a real potential partner or a fun ride in which they can extort as much money as possible from.
It's up to you to see it. |

My girlfriend's ex was all about pampering her all the time, but also acting like a Korean male and superior to her.
When I started dating her, it took her awhile to get used to an American man, one that values equality, doesn't spend money on unnecessary shit and isn't a push over. She is an exception to the rule, though. I'm glad not to be in the dating scene anymore in Korea, it was a lot of work with the needy Korean girls.
Now she (we) couldn't be happier, even if she complains about something once a while like any woman in any country does. Except Middle Eastern women. They know their place is to be quiet or face the public stoning. |

I've met very few 'quiet' Korean females in any context here... |

My girl isn't high maintenance. However, every now and then she will get melodramatic about something. It can be exhausting but she is definitely worth it. |

My girlfriend and I get along fairly well. I just pay for dates and stuff, I'm not into that whole buying her shit thing unless it's a special occasion (birthday, Christmas, when I go home to visit a gift for her, etc.)
We did get into a pretty big argument when she surprised me with a gift (that I didn't really expect or want) and then she wanted me to buy her something in return. Truth of the matter was, she only got me the gift because she bought herself a bag and tried to return it and they said exchange only. Told her after that her money is her money and mine is mine and no giving gifts for no reason...just too many headaches.
We've been together a year and things are going ok mostly, well except for the cheating I did on holiday but that's in the past. Hopefully there isn't some pay back waiting to happen for that though. |

Another piece of relevant information. My ex was from Gangnam. That should explain a lot of things. |
