The Outback in Cheonho doesn't have paper napkins at tables because they're "trying to be environmentally friendly."

I don't know about you, but I'm just not comfortable wiping my mouth with those big-ass folded napkins they wrap up their metal utensils with.

Maybe that makes me ghetto; maybe that makes me beneficent toward whoever would otherwise have to clean my greasy stains and snot off of such pristine cloth. Whatever the case, I'm sure the Outback braintrust can find better ways to serve customers and protect Earth than taking away a diner's god-given right.

(And don't get me started on the lack of neither salt nor pepper shakers.)

You want to do the world a favor, Outback Cheonho? Don't have the TV behind the bar always on SBS Golf. Golf is not the new-millennial mounted deer's head, okay? Ironically, know what you could do if you wanted to appear a little more like a fancy-schmancy dining establishment?

Put napkins at your tables, jerkasses.

And give every male customer a complementary blowjob.

(I'm not saying the cream of mushroom soup and strawberry smoothies are bad or anything, but if you really want to get a leg up on the competition...)

I use cloth napkins at home at all times. Of course, mine are 100% cotton and washed to a softness Outback's cloth napkins lack.

OP that was FUNNY!
I have not been there in years and went the other night with my girlfriend. We say at the bar for faster and more attentive service. SBS golf on the screen! LOL! Nailed it! Talk about a franchise!

Great post...thanks for the humor we lack here!

dont go to outback...was good 5 yrs ago..now a slum.

last time i was there they asked me if their food was ok..i just laughed my head off.

sitting at bar is ,however, the best ploy there...you get their sad crap 'food" more quickly, and if you pander to their collective k shame, a freebie as an apology when they realise they are commiting crimes of cuisine

hahah

paper napkins are recyclable.

washing napkins requires soap, which is a pollutant, as well as water and energy for the machine.

I can't see how you're this upset about this unless you were eating baby back ribs and you have an allergy to cloth napkins.

1. How is a cloth napkin inferior to a paper napkin? Or vice versa. I need an explanation about why one's better than the other to understand this difference.

2. Did you ask for a wet napkin? If you've been to an Outback before, you've got to know they give those out if you ask for them or eat baby back ribs or barbeque wings.

3. Did you ask the bar tender to change the channel? I've said baseball or soccer or basketball and had them change the channel. In the past, I've simply said the name of the sport as a question. The bartender, as I've experienced, always speaks English and can understand you when you ask for stuff. If not, you could've made a motion representing basketball or baseball. Bar tenders will oblige you. Maybe you weren't sitting at the bar, but if it upset you so much, you could've asked him/her to change it.

4. Did you ask for salt and pepper? They weren't there, true. Okay, a big no-no. But did they give you an excuse for their absence or did you simply not ask for them?

Whenever I need something at a restaurant I've asked for and gotten it. In cases where something isn't available but should be, I've asked twice and it's usually been handed over to me. In most of these cases, asking twice -- or asking just once -- would've done the trick. I'm sorry you had such a bad experience. I don't work for Outback, but you should go back because they've got Chocolate Thunder From Down Under. It's awesome.

(An aside: I've always gotten free drinks at the bar whenever I've gone to Outback. I've gotten champagne, soda, and fruit juices so far. I've been to multiple Outbacks. It happens every time and I'm not a woman. And I've never sat at the bar for more than an hour eating my food.)
