|
|
This mainly applies to students or those with upcoming visa renewals - but preferably students. My Visa is due to expire on the 31st of March, and I will be continuing education - I've got my enrolment form ready to take to immigration. However, usually to receive a VISA it takes up to 14 days, correct? So does this mean I won't be able to get a renewal, or does simply having applied for the renewal before the deadline suffice? I've been too poorly to get out so I couldn't get down there.
Also, do I again need a 예금잔액 증명서 document from my bank (funding evidence) or is just the enrolment form, registration card and passport enough? |

I don't know for sure
BUT
since it is just a visa extension and NOT a new visa I would assume you just need proof of enrollment (plus your ARC, passport, application and fee).
Extensions for ALL other visas are done while you wait. I don't know why a student visa extension would be any different.
Anyone with 1st hand knowledge that would indicate something different can feel free to show/tell if this is NOT the case. |

| So I would receive the extension while I wait, but have to come back later to pick up a new alien registration card? |

Nope, they just mark the back with the new information / expiry date and send you on your way. |

I'm not an expert, nor a student, BUT I did just have my visa renewed a few weeks ago.
I could not get it done immediately, it took them about a week, I think (but this isn't typical, as far as I know- I had lost my ARC which made it take longer). I went in to Immigration the week before my visa expired and handed in the paperwork. They actually processed it while I was out of the country, but it seemed to me that the only issue was getting the forms in before the deadline, not having it all processed by then.
If I were in your position, I would also take the bank statement, just to be on the safe side. It seems like something they would want, and it doesn't usually hurt to have extra information to back you up, right? |
