I've been searching high and low in my Busan town for a Korean Herald (or any English newspaper) and I can't find anything! My town isn't that small and I know these things exsist because I read them every day when I was in Seoul.

Where??

THanks for the suggestion though. Smile

You and your friends or students could start your own English-language newspaper. You could make your own puzzles, too, plus comics, horoscopes and car ads.

If you're in/near Busan, most major subway stops have newspaper dealers which carry both major english language dailies (and sometimes even the IHT...though I would never pay money for that rag). Pick one up, take it to your school and get the powers that be to subscribe. Fob off the old copies on the students; they're really quite keen on reading Korean news in english.

^^
Right. In Daegu, a lot of the Family Mart convenience stores have the Korea Times. Bus stop ticket booths have the Herald downtown.

For Busan, my guess would be around Haeundae. Also, the intercity bus stations, subway stations, and the train station will have copies.

Go where a high concentration of foreigners go.

Thanks everyone!

I will continue my search. And maybe even start my own newspaper. Smile

I tried to order the FT after they sent me a fairly good offer for a year.

I emailed them and got them to confirm if it would arrive daily ( I am only 25 minutes from central Seoul by bus).

they coould not get it to me daily and it could be up to 5 days late.

Hub of Asia my arse

You can get the International Herald Tribune delivered in Busan (a day late) for 20,000 won a month. 15,000 if you have a student number.
In Seoul it arrives in the morning (sameday).

You may need a Korean speaker to order it for you though, I tried to order it and they couldn't understand me. Then when I tried to cancel it they couldn't understand me either.

Yeah, I can see how it is difficult to have a daily newspaper in such a massive, sparsely populated country.
