OTTAWA (AFP) - Canada's military is probing how detailed plans for its new elite counter-terrorism squad headquarters ended up in a trash bin on the streets of the capital, an official said Thursday.
Public Safety Minister Stockwell Day said an investigation was underway after the daily Ottawa Citizen identified the 26 top secret blueprints, brought to them by a curious passerby who spotted them in a curbside garbage can. |
Oh dear. Reminds of the time the Canadian army had a warehouse of automatic weapons stolen. See their fool proof security system was a Mastercraft padlock and a 70 year old retiree working as a night watchman. Naturally the security guard protecting hundreds of SMGs and FNs was armed with nothing more potent than a flashlight. |

I'd love to be a fly on the wall for that departmental meeting. |

One day at my dot.com I was in the photocopy room, making copies, and I saw in the trash a draft of our earnings report. That's the report only 4 people in the company should know about before it's released to the market. Oddly, right next to the open trash was the secure locked "to be shred" trash. I have no idea why the person doing up the draft of the earnings wouldn't throw it in the secure trash.
Alas, there was nothing in the earnings that I could take advantage of. |
