What a bigoted load of slop he sent you! In response to your telling him that he can't invent stats, he invents more. His so-called article includes a condemnation of the ATEK site for spelling errors, yet his e-mail is nothing but erros. Also interesting that he calls himself Dr. in that e-mail yet his resume doesn't include a doctorate.

Yes, I've seen the resume he currently has online. I've also encountered him, in all his bigotry and insanity, on Koreabridge (another site from which he's been banned).

{Edited for spelling.}

I sent him an e-mail letter, too, but have not received a reply from him yet. I'll post it if and when I get it.

Did you address it to a Dr. Thiessen or call him on his pretense and address it to Archaeologist? That's the name he's used on KB & KT, and he's outed himself on both sites as being Thiessen. Check the caliber of his research, too, if you're in need of some humor.

With Mr Theissen, Mr Schertzer, and Mr Truthfulchat advocating on our behalf do we really need enemies?

self-same sycophants undoubtedly show their 'articles' to their 'owner'
shortly after cooing 'oh yes..glorious...4 seasons luvdakinchi'

there is a difference between seeing things reasonably and having your inflated hat size stuck where the sun don't shine and that goes for both extremes

here's his reply to me:

you seem to forget that the association is a small group of foreigners
and that i have many, many years of experience in and with this country.
i know what foreigners do and i know what the end result is and this

anything constructive.

yes i have more information concerning what i wrote but it is not going
tobe put into the foriegner public eye as i have had direct contact with
this organization and i have their attitude on record.

if you have obeyed the law and done what has been asked of you, then you
did what was right but telling others to change because you have been
slighted is not right. now look for the **** as i try to answer your
points one by one.

*** i did, on their website. i goto the source first not the public to
air what is wrong. generalities are sufficient here.

don'tcriticize something becaus eit comes in a different package.

**** that is an american pillar, not neccessarily for other countries.
also their self-appoinment , their lack of constitution, their lackof
specifics show they are not democratically inclined. (their poll on
their website wanted to see if they should just step right into the mix,
without authority or permission to start negotiations with 1. parents,
2. employers, 3. the government. sorry but they are getting ahead of
themselves and making a mess of things.

> - 'they should be humbled and learn a lesson'... yes, revenge and
> intolerance is a great lesson to share with the world
***not revenge nor intolerance but awareness of what people have had to
suffer when trying to find work in the west. this is not a 100 year old
problem being mentioned but a fact that still happens today.

> the law, they must abide by it... logic, not 'neo-nazism'
***still is the Korean country but remember for every bad hagwon owner
here, there is a bad employer in the west doing the exact same thing/
microsoft has done it in tuscon, corporations do it all the time when
they don't pay their bills on time but use a 30, 60 90 day rollover to
gainmore interest on their money before sending it out to the person
owed the money.

so get off your self-righteous, hypocritical high horse and start using
your brains with compassion.

and my response to him:

Dr (hahahaha) Davey Boy,

Your response would be humorous if not for the facts that:
1) You have (apparently )attained a doctorate degree
2) You are writing in a major Korean newspaper

"I know what foreigners do".
Really? You have never met me. You are spewing racist garbage that in fact says more about your ignorance than everybody else in the world, i.e. "foreigners".

"Telling others to obey the law because you have been slighted is not right".
I obey the law, and it is my RIGHT to report those who break the law and hurt me.

You explained yourself "on their website".
This means that you are not taking FULL accountability for your words. Since you published your article in a newspaper, you should follow it up there, as well.

"Generalities are sufficient here".
My point is that saying that someone is wrong without explaining why is not an argument but an unsubstantiated opinion. I assume you've written a thesis at the doctorate level - blanket generalities are foolish there and foolish in newspaper articles...

"Don't criticize something that comes in another package".
I agree that anyone can make a good point. However, using ONE source from ONE random web page is very poor 'research' indeed. I'm not criticizing them, I'm criticizing YOU.

The right to free assembly "is a pillar of American democracy, not necessarily other countries".
I'm talking about democracy, not America. The last time I checked, Korea was a democracy. People are free to assemble here, as well.

Racism as "a fact that still happens today".
Are you saying that racism is ok because it happens everywhere? I agree that my country has its problems but that doesn't mean Korea is any better. There are child molestors everywhere as well. Does your argument entail that I shouldn't call the cops if I discover one in Korea?

"For every bad hagwon owner, there is one in the West"
My point is that BOTH people need to be brought to justice.

"Get off your hypocritical high horse and start using your brains with compassion."
I'm not the one (ab)using my position as a newspaper writer to spew racist, apologistic garbage to the general public. If you can't handle criticism, you shouldn't publish your writings. I'm compassionate towards good people, regardless of where they come from. I seek to bring those who hurt others to justice, regardless of who they are, or whether people in other parts of the world make the same mistakes.

ernie,

I'm glad you mentioned child molestors in your response to the so-called doctor. That's a really sore subject with him, especially when anyone suggests that convicted pedophiles not be permitted to teach children.

The sad thing is that the writer of the article will never admit he is wrong, and in fact, truely believes he is right. Sometimes people cling to what they need to survive. I see many good things in Korea but there are also many problems. If you refuse to even see the problems, and only blame the outsiders for causing the problems, then there will never be any growth or change. Don't bother trying to speak to the writer of the article as a journalist, he isn't one.

Now I get it!
I know why he wrote this...
He recently met ,some hot little ,overly nationalistic korean chick
I guess he thought this would be a good way to get into her pants
Hes trying to get laid!!!

It reminds me of whenever I start dating a Korean. Before I have the chance to see her naked , she will ask..." ..so what do you korea... "

If a union for teachers is so important or is easy to set up, it would have been done ten years ago. This new attempt will fail just like all attempts in the past. So why bothering arguing about it?
