I'm going to Canada for three weeks. Is it possible to get a police check done in Canada when I am there, or does it take longer? I'd want to bring the documents with me back to Korea, rather than send them by mail.

If you're in Canada, they can do it in one hour. Just like those one-hour photo places.

Wow. That beats going to a Korean policestation, sending stuff in the mail, waiting months and months...

One hour huh. Think I'll wait till I get to Canada...

If you want a simple CRC, then it's pretty much instant.
However, I'm assuming you want a vulnerable sector check along with it, which takes a bit longer.
I'm currently in Canada, waiting for my CRC.
The woman I spoke with at the Korean consulate recommended I have the check done with Commissionaires (www.commissionaires.ca).
I'm expecting it on Tuesday, which would make it a wait of 5 business days (stupid Easter!)
Hope that helps.

Short answer : yes, you will have to get it done again. The new system requires that the police record check be no more than 3 months old.

I just did mine a week ago at my local RCMP office in BC and the woman told me it might take a few days, however she called me back later that day to say it was ready. It cost me $55 total for the criminal record check and the vulnerable sector search.

What is this "vulnerable sector search"?

Is it the same as getting your document notarized?
